Willcox AVA

Located in southeastern Arizona, Willcox is Arizona's most productive wine region. The climate features warm days, cool nights, volcanic soils, and sandy loam with high elevations over 4,300 ft. There are approximately 21 commercially producing vineyards in the Willcox AVA, growing over 2/3 of the state's wine grapes. The total growing area for this region is roughly 526,000 acres (822 sq mi), which primarily produces Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Malbec, Malvasia Bianca, Marsanne, Merlot, Mourvedre, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, Riesling, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Syrah, Tempranillo, Trebbiano, and Viognier.
